I suspect Kirk's regular treks around the Prime Directive didn't help matters.

It's been a year since the final episode of Star Trek: Enterprise aired and at that time I asked how you would cope. This month, I was going to ask how that year went but, ironically perhaps, the death of the franchise wasn't as permanent as I thought. :-)

According to a startrek.com news item dated 21 Apr 2006, J.J. Abrams will produce and direct an as-yet unnamed "Star Trek XI" for release in 2008.

"The proposed story will focus on the early days of James T. Kirk and Spock, including their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and their first mission in space."

So, what do you think?

It's about time we got our Star Trek fix: just shoot it straight up my veins!

Continuing with Star Trek XI...

The writers have suggested there will be a "reimagining" of the look of the series. In the Star Wars prequels, the universe was shiney, happy, and full of chrome. In Battlestar Galactica's "reboot", things got bleak, grim, and gritty.

Which way should Star Trek XI go?
